At an early age, the family moved to New York where Lottie attended school and graduated from Washington Irving High School with honors in dressmaking and dress design course for four years. She also was a life member of the Dressmaking and Design Alumnae Association.
Upon graduating from high school, Lottie worked at an insurance company for several years. After employment at the insurance company, she obtained employment at Macy’s in their payroll department as a garnisher clerk. She worked at Macy’s for more than thirty years and retired in 1993.
Lottie was a seamstress who LOVED to sew and made clothing for herself and anyone who desired the gifting in her hands. Within her desire for fashion, Lottie also had a creative gifting for finding beautiful  clothes for bargain prices.
Lottie was an outgoing person who loved to socialize with family and close friends. She enjoyed being with family and we will remember the wonderful times over the years we had with her at birthday parties, holiday gatherings and especially New Years Eve Celebrations.

She is survived by: her cousin-sister, Katherine Denny (Bill); her cousin-niece, Denise Whitehead; her Godson, James P. Hill; her aunt, Sallie P. Rivers of Springfield, Massachusetts; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

My deepest condolences goes out to the family. I knew Ms. Lottie back in the day at Macy's, when we both worked in the Payroll Department. I had just been employed and I was only 20 years old at the time, she was kind and embraced showing me how the job needed to be done. She was a gentle kind human being and she will be missed.
