Biography: Sheldon Leon Johnson was born May 13, 1954 to Viola “Dean” Johnson and Eugene Leon Johnson.
Sheldon had several nicknames. He called himself “Shelly-Shell”, “Shelly” and his most famous nickname was “Rockwell”.
Sheldon attended the New York City public school system. He was an excellent student. His favorite subject was Math. He loved numbers and counting money. After school , he began working as a Baker and Chef at Nedicks Restaurant , located on 42nd St. in the subway. He loved cooking and baking all types of food.
Sheldon was also a expert at repairing broken things. His favorite thing was fixing bikes.
Sheldon loved his music. He use to go to where he lives 974 St. Nicholas Ave # 2B and hang out singing, dancing and just having a fun time.He did have a young lady in his life when he was younger named Renee. He loved Renee a lot and she loved him!
Sheldon always made you laugh about something. I remember when we were burying my younger brother Baron Johnson, Sheldon had three watches on his arms. When we saw that we could not stop laughing. He was a fun loving guy!!
He was preceded in death by; his parents Viola Johnson and Eugene Leon Johnson, his brother Baron Johnson and his special friend Renee. He leaves behind his loving family; his sister Tina, his niece Tika, his nephew Bruce, his great nephew Khaliq and a host of friends and family. He will be truly missed.
