Biography: Angelia Gilbert, daughter of the late Mr. Albert Morrison from North Carolina. Angela Morrison was born in New York City on February 28, 1921. She departed on the morning of April 10, 2021. she had two sisters, Christine and Marie, they were both called home.
Angelia graduated from Morris High School and she also completed two years of higher education. Angelina worked for the Board of Education as a secretary until retirement. She also worked for the William Hudson Senior Center as head secretary, located in the Bronx.
Angelina married in the 1950s to the late Reverend T.T. Gooden and from that union they had one daughter, the late Angela Simms. Angelina ,married again to the late Reverend James E. Gilbert of Greater Zion Baptist Church; out of that union, they had one daughter, Cachita gilbert.
Angelia Gilbert had a strong relationship with the Lord, and never held her tongue. Joined under the leadership of the late Pastor, Reverend T.A. Allen. Angelina was a member of the Upper Room Baptist Church for over 40 years. Presently, Upper Room Baptist Church is under the leadership of Pastor, Reverend David Luckey, Sr.
Angelina Gilbert was also a member and once the president of the Upper Room Senior Choir until she stepped down from her duties. Former Pastor James Williams of the Upper Room Baptist Church appointed her as one of the mothers of the church. Mother Gilbert also held the position of church secretary
With loving memories and devotion, Mother Gilbert leaves behind to treasure her memories her: loving daughter, Reverend Cachita Gilbert; her grandchildren: Lena-Marie, William, Khadijah, Yasmeen, Malik and a host of great-grandson, nieces and cousins.
A special appreciation to her granddaughter, Lena-Marie Gilbert  and Upper Room Baptist Church for being there in  the time of need. We also want to thank her caretakers, Ms. Georgette who was with Mother Gilbert for 7 years and Ms. Shelia.
Mother Angelina Gilbert will be deeply missed by her family, Upper Room family and friends.
