A Time to be Born…..Brother Joe Bellinger, Sr was born – August 4, 1932 in Eutawville, SC. He was born the son of the late Joseph Bellinger, Sr and late Essie Fuller Bellinger.
A Time to Grow…..Joe attend the Vance Primary School in Vance SC and Roberts High School, Holly Hill. He work at early age in the Holly Hill area before moving to New York
A Time to Worship….. he started serving at an early age a member of Lovely Hill Baptist Church in Holly Hill, SC and remained there until he joined First Baptist Church, NYC, NY when he moved to NYC. At First Baptist he served on the Pastor Aid Ministry, the Male Chorus, the Men’s Ministry and was a dedicated hard worker as Trustee of the Church Ministry. He was dedicated and honored as an honorary Trustee of First Baptist Church and honorary dedicated member in 2018.
A Time to Love…... Joe married his high school sweetheart Evelyn , they were blessed with five sons Joe, Jr. Jerome, Bernard, Maurice, and Barry. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, godfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He took great care of his family and always willing to help and extend his love to all that needed him.
A Time to Serve…Joe served God effortlessly and dedicated himself to serving the Lord. Joe was a great supporter, contributor and hard worker. In the community he was well known as Father of Clinton not just raising his sons but being father role model for all the youth in Clinton Housing of Harlem, NY.
A Time to work…..His adult career was a Security Guard for many years and he retired in 2018 after 30+ years of being security then supervisor with UFT United Federation Teachers.
A Time to Die……God called Joe home from labor to reward on January 30, 2021 at 3:30 pm. He lived a rewarding life and was ready to meet his Savior on that day.
Preceded him in death his mother Essie Fuller Bellinger and father Joseph Bellinger, Sr. two sons Barry and Maurice.
A Time to Mourn…. Fond memories of Joe will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Evelyn of the home, their sons Joe (Stephanie) Bellinger, Jr of CA, Jerome Bellinger of Manhattan, and Bernard Bellinger of Brooklyn, NY, brother Jake (Wanda) Bellinger of Dallas TX, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
