Biography: Evelyn was born on June 3, 1938 to her father, Nathaniel Anderson and mother, Ella Gilmore (both of whom are deceased) in Columbia, South Carolina. She departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 5, 2021. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Pleasant, three brothers: Nathaniel Anderson, Jr., James Mack Anderson and A.C. “Tiny” Anderson and her daughter Betty.
 
Evelyn was known for living for her children, grand, great grands and great –great grands. She was a lady with a heart of gold, who’s inspiration transcended all who knew her. Evelyn will be proclaimed as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother; as well as being a great sister and friend to many who knew her. We will always remember her as a woman with great insight, with sound advice and a humorous spirit. Evelyn will forever be in the hearts she touched.
 
Evelyn was loved by hundreds of young people, because of her warm heart and extended concern for their well-being, you called her big sis, auntie or mom, she was treasured by everyone.
 
Evelyn’s addiction was providing tremendous love for her family. She possessed the ability to make “light” of the most difficult situation through laughter.
 
Evelyn leaves to mourn her: four sons: Terrell Anderson, Darryl, Davon and Bernard Pleasant; five daughters: Ebony Anderson, Avis, Betty and Ellen Pleasant; thirty-six grandchildren: Evelina, Clarence, Eric, Britainy, Alora, Zykra, Christina, Dupree, Ericka, Beatrice, Betty, Michael, Alyssa, Ronald, Rashean, Nevaeh, Nahriah, Kwesi, Zyaire, Lamont, Calvin, Zuri, Patricia, Bernard, Andrew, Laniece, Keanna, Lakesha, Havannah, Ky’Lah, Anthony, Tamasesha, Deshaun, Sean, Collin and James; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
