Paul Rutledge was born in Baltimore MD on June 24th 1938, to Thelma Rutledge and Author Reid.  He had 5 siblings Bert, Peter, Robert Ann, Frances and Michael Ann. Paul attended school in the Maryland educational system until moving to NY in 1971 at age 32. Paul was married twice in life. To his 1st wife Violet wells and fathered 5 children Edwina Wells, Alphonsa, Pamela, Malcolm and Tanya Rutledge. He later on met the love of his life Carstella and they wed in 1973.
In that union they had 7 Children Elliot Warley, Pau-latter, Amy, Paul Jr. Phillip, Joseph and lastly the youngest Carstella Rutledge.  Paul stayed in shape and took great pride in his appearance by working out and keeping fit. Paul loved to look good and have a good time as well as see others around him enjoy themselves. He was a gracious free spirited person that tried to make the best of the life he was given. Paul was good with his hands and had a passion for carpentry. He loved to paint, plaster and fix up homes for a living. He also did maintenance for the board of education. Paul also did charity work cleaning up the Greater Central Baptist church for 4yrs. He also had a passion for cooking and loved to fry chicken and fish especially on Fridays.
He was proud of his children and always tried his best to support them all.  He encourages them to do their best and work hard for the things they wanted to achieve in their lives.  Paul touched many lives will be truly missed. He leaves to mourn his wife Carstella, his children, Elwina, Pamela, Tanya, Pau-lattaer, Amy, Paul Jr. Phillip, Joseph and Carstella, His combined 50 grandchildren, and 50 great grandchildren. sisters Robert Ann Brother in law Prince Davis, Michael Ann, Cousin, Nieces , Nephews and a host of family and friends. His Mother Thelma, two oldest sons Alphonso, Malcolm and sister Francise precede him in life.
