Biography:

Viola Morris better known as Ms. Morris was born on March 15, 1937, in Harlem Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Gregoria Marita and Coleridge Cummings. Viola was raised in the “boogie down” Bronx, along with her late sister Eileen Cummings and half-brother Cecil Cummings. Viola grew up in a Christian Church, she loved the Lord.

Viola attended Jane Adams H.S, where later she attended nursing school pursuing her dreams of becoming a nurse. Viola did just that, after graduating from nursing school, Viola became an LPN. Viola always had that loving, caring spirit that others loved to be around. Viola always brought joy at her workplace, where she worked at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Health Center. After being there for 20 years Viola retired in April 2000.

Viola had a great heart, even with her sassy attitude everyone still loved her, She was a fashion niesta she could put anything together and have you saying WOW! Not only her style, but her cooking was also very fashionable; Viola prepared meals as if you were staying in a five-star hotel. She also loved to go to the casino, where her and her longtime partner Bob would spend most of their time together. Her favorite color was red, when you saw her, she always wore it from either her clothing to her red lipstick, her favorite perfume was Chanel #5. Yes, Viola was up on game. Viola loved watching her favorite tv shows from her stories, to “For my man” and “Half and Have Nots” just to name a few. Viola would call up all her friends to discuss the details of the show, not only that she would remind a few of her friends & loved ones to watch it!!!

Viola’s beautiful spirit would continue to live on, her smile, her jokes, the person she was will remain in our hearts. Viola's legacy would continue to live on!

Viola leaves to mourn: Her two sons Derrick Morris and Leshon Morris, Her longtime partner Robert (Bob) Lowrie; Her stepchildren: Sharon and Rashawn Lowrie Her five grandkids Latasha Rudolph, Lashanda Morris, Leshon Morris Jr, Jaquan Morris, Nyasia Smith and one great-granddaughter. Her two cousins Cynthia Cruz, Diana Larrier; Thelma Rudolph who she considered her daughter; and a host of extended family and friends.
